Jennifer McCarty, MPH, CIC, FAPIC

Jennifer McCarty graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in biology. She went on to obtain a Master of Public Health from the UT-Health Science Center Houston School of Public Health. In 2000, Jennifer joined Infection Prevention & Management Associates and has been CBIC certified in infection prevention since 2003. She was recognized as an Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Fellow in 2021.
Within IPMA she has focused on developing epidemiologic surveillance systems, assisted in the development of the education program used with new employees and served as a mentor and lead for new infection preventionists. Jennifer has provided program oversight in a variety of healthcare facilities including acute and long-term acute care, rehabilitation, ambulatory and surgical hospitals. She is familiar with JCAHO, DNV and CMS survey methodologies. She has held several leadership positions with the local APIC Houston Chapter over the years.
